Understand HHO Today

The first thing that you should know is how exactly it works. HHO generators are small units, usually from a kit or homemade, that are installed and attached to your engine. Basically it is a sort of water injection in which a fuel cell is created from a small reservoir. Your car charges this cell through normal operating and then it is used to power your car. This is sort of the poor man's hybrid and allows the average driver to approximately double their gas mileage, give or take a small margin.

You can purchase the schematics online and install a unit from scratch for about $100. This may take a bit of work if you are not auto repair inclined but it is your cheapest option. After the extreme gas prices last summer there are now many kits on the market. These are fairly simple to install or you can have a mechanic do so. After this the only required maintenance is to chance out the water in your reservoir every three months or so, about the same time that your oil change is due. This is nothing too complicated or special as it is simply tap water and should only take you a few seconds.

The final question that is often tossed around is whether or not this is too good to be true. The answer is that while it has become a much hyped technology it is also a very real one. Major news outlets have done tests and in depth stories with very positive results pointing to huge gas mileage increases with the install of HHO generators.
